My name is Linja and I'm an 18-year-old photographer from Switzerland.
Besides photography, I also love music, spending time in nature, and discovering new places and experiences. I’m always curious to learn new things and explore different creative directions.

My career:
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I constantly borrowed my dad’s camera until I finally got my own for my 12th birthday. Since then, I’ve always loved taking photos of nature, trrips, and special moments.
About a year before I started my exchange in Finland, I started to take photography more seriously and I've taught myself most of my knowledge by watching a lot of videos and talking to other photographers. My main motivation at the time was to photograph the Northern Lights in Finland. Now that I look back, it seems kind of funny; how did I go from wanting to photograph the northern lights to being a concert photographer?
I honestly have no idea how and why I wanted to photograph concerts, but when I mentioned it to my former host mother in early December 2023, she immediately thought of the local music club with a capacity of about 1200 people. So I emailed them. Unfortunately, I was in the process of changing host families and had to wait a little bit.
Long story short, the 3rd of March 2024 arrived and I had my first concert as a photographer. It was a very thrilling experience! I was very lucky that there were 3 other photographers, 1 of them being new as well, who could show me some tricks and help me with the computer to edit after the first 3 songs. Being surrounded by live music, lights, and emotions instantly made me fall in love with concert photography.
Since returning to Switzerland, I’ve continued doing concert and event photography whenever possible. I’m the photographer and social media manager for the local music and theatre venue Scala Wetzikon, and I also photograph various school events as part of my school’s photography team. In 2024, I had the opportunity to photograph the Swiss festival Stars in Town, which was a really exciting experience.
Even though concert photography is my main focus, I also love portraits, travel photography, nature, and night photography. My mind just calms down when I have a camera in my hands. Photography makes me so happy and I have the biggest smile on my face when I come home from a great shoot. I'm smiling just writing this.
Music is also a huge passion of mine. The first time I picked up a violin was in 2014. Since then I haven't been able to stop making music. I have done several competitions and level tests, taught myself to play other instruments and started singing (solo & choir) in January 2023. I think it's clear to say: I love music.
